Subject:Human Rights and Relations Commission: Bias Offense Response Plan Update Action   


 




ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve the Bias Offense Response Plan as updated by the Human Rights and Relations Commission.

INTRODUCTION:

On an annual basis, the Human Rights and Relations Commission (HRRC) reviews, and updates if necessary, the Bias Offense Response Plan (The Plan). The Plan is approved by City Council, therefore, requires their approval for amendments. This year a sub-committee of commissioners reviewed The Plan and brought changes to the HRRC's consideration as outlined in the track changes document. On September 26, the Commission approved the committee's recommended changes. 

 

The Edina Police Chief, Dave Nelson has reviewed the document and provided feedback on changes that the HRRC did incorporate.
